# The AI concierge for your Shopify store To add an AI assistant to your Shopify store, create a free AskMyWebsite AI account, let it scan your store's pages (up to 30 on the free tier), then paste one script tag into `theme.liquid` right before ``. No app-store app, no plugin, and no changes to your theme's code beyond that single line. Once installed, the AI concierge answers shopper questions using only your store's own content and guides visitors to the right button or field by highlighting it, step by step. ## Add it to your Shopify store in three steps 1. Let AskMyWebsite AI scan your store. The scan reads the visible content of your pages so the AI concierge has something real to answer from. 2. Paste the tag. In Shopify, go to Online Store > Edit code > theme.liquid, and paste this right before ``. Your app id comes from the dashboard after you create your account. ``` ``` 3. Save the theme file. That's it - the widget appears on your storefront, answers questions from your content, and guides shoppers across your pages. ## What your visitors get The AI concierge only answers from your own site content and any notes you add as the store owner - never from the open internet, so it won't invent policies or specs your store doesn't have. It reads the visible text of whichever page a shopper is currently on, so answers stay relevant to what they're looking at. When a visitor needs to find something, the widget highlights the exact element to click, step by step, across pages - but it never clicks, fills, or submits anything itself; the shopper always stays in control and takes the action themselves. It replies in whatever language the visitor writes in, and on themes that navigate client-side it keeps working too, because it detects client-side route changes and continues guiding shoppers without a full page reload. ## Where it helps most in a Shopify store Product pages raise the most repetitive questions: what a product is made of, how sizing runs, whether one item works with another. The AI concierge answers these straight from your product descriptions and any policy pages you've published, instead of a shopper emailing you or giving up. Shipping, delivery, and returns questions get the same treatment - answered from your own shipping and returns pages, in the shopper's own words. The widget sets no cookies - it uses sessionStorage only after a visitor opens it, and that data dies with the tab.
