The AI concierge for your WordPress site

To add an AI assistant to a WordPress site, create a free AskMyWebsite AI account and let it scan your site, then paste one script tag into your theme's footer, just before the closing </body> tag. You can paste it in footer.php or through any header and footer snippet plugin you already use. There is no AskMyWebsite plugin to install and nothing else to configure: the tag is plain HTML, so it works with any theme and any page builder.

Add it to your WordPress site in three steps

  1. Let it scan your site. The scan reads your public pages and that content becomes the assistant's knowledge. You can add notes afterwards for anything that is not written on any page - opening hours, a policy you explain by email, the answer you type twenty times a week.
  2. Paste the tag before </body>. In your theme's footer.php, or in any header and footer snippet plugin, add:
    <script src="https://cdn.askmywebsiteai.com/sdk.js" data-app-id="YOUR_APP_ID" defer></script>
Your app id is shown in the dashboard when you create the site. If you edit footer.php directly, use a child theme so a theme update does not overwrite it - the snippet plugin route avoids that question entirely.
  3. Done. It answers and it guides. The widget appears on every page that loads your footer. Visitors ask in their own words; the assistant answers from your content and, when the answer is "click here", it highlights the exact element to click.

What your visitors get

The assistant answers only from your own site and the notes you add. It does not search the open internet, so it cannot wander off and describe a service you do not offer or quote a price you never published. If the answer is not in your content, it says so rather than filling the gap.

It also reads the visible text of the page the visitor is currently on, so a question like "does this one come in a larger size" makes sense without the visitor explaining which product they mean. Values typed into form fields are never captured.

When something needs doing rather than explaining, it guides. It highlights the exact element to click, step by step, and it follows the visitor across pages. What it never does is act for them: it does not click, does not fill in fields and does not submit anything. The visitor stays in control of every action on your site, which matters as much on a checkout as on a contact form.

And it replies in the language the visitor writes in. A German visitor on an English site gets a German answer, drawn from the same English content, without you maintaining a second version of anything.

WordPress sites it fits

WooCommerce stores. Most pre-purchase questions are already answered somewhere on the site - in the product description, the shipping page, the returns policy - and the visitor simply has not found them. The assistant reads the product page the shopper is on and the policy pages it scanned, and answers in the conversation instead of sending the shopper off to hunt. When the answer is a place rather than a fact ("the size guide is right here"), it highlights it. It never adds anything to the cart and never advances checkout on the shopper's behalf.

Blogs and content sites. An archive of several hundred posts is a research library nobody can navigate. A reader who asks "have you written anything about renting out a second property" gets an answer drawn from your posts and a pointer to the ones that matter, rather than a search results page sorted by date. Long-form sites tend to have the answer somewhere; the assistant's job is to close the gap between having it and finding it.

Membership, booking and service sites. The questions that arrive by email are usually procedural: how do I change my plan, where do I cancel, how do I reschedule. Those are guidance questions, and guidance is what the widget does - it walks the visitor to the control and lets them press it.

Agencies building on WordPress. Because it is one plain script tag, it drops into any build without touching the stack you already chose: any theme, any page builder, any hosting. Personalization - assistant name, logo, colors, welcome message, tone - is available on every plan, so the widget can look like your client's brand rather than ours. The Agency plan at 99 euros/month is fully white-label and adds client management and API access, which is the shape you want when the same account carries a portfolio of client sites rather than one.

Privacy and GDPR

AskMyWebsite AI is operated from Spain and hosted in the EU (Barcelona). For visitor conversations we act as your data processor under a GDPR Article 28 agreement, published in full at [Data Processing Agreement]. The widget sets no cookies: it uses sessionStorage only after a visitor opens it, and that entry dies with the browser tab. Conversations are automatically deleted after 90 days, form field values are never captured, and your content is not used to train AI models. Payments happen only on Stripe's hosted pages. The full detail is in the [Privacy Policy].

WordPress questions, answered

Do I need a WordPress plugin to add AskMyWebsite AI?

No. There is no AskMyWebsite plugin and none is needed. You paste one script tag before the closing body tag, either in your theme's footer.php or through any header and footer snippet plugin you already use.

Will it work with my theme and page builder?

Yes. The tag is plain HTML, so it does not depend on your theme, your page builder or your hosting. Any theme that loads a footer will load the widget on every page.

Can it place an order or fill in a form for the visitor?

No. It highlights the exact element to click and guides step by step across pages, but it never clicks, fills or submits anything. The visitor performs every action themselves.
