What is an AI concierge?

An AI concierge is a website assistant that answers a visitor's question using only that website's own content, sees the page the visitor is currently on, and then guides them to the next step by highlighting the exact element they need to click. It is the difference between being told where the checkout is and being shown it. An AI concierge never clicks, fills or submits anything on the visitor's behalf: it points, and the visitor acts.

The word is borrowed from hotels on purpose: a concierge does not hand you an encyclopedia, they know the building and walk you to the right door. That is a narrower job than "answer anything", and the narrowness is what makes it reliable.

What an AI concierge does that a chatbot does not

Two properties separate a concierge from a general-purpose chat widget, and both come from the same source: the concierge is not floating above the website, it is part of it.

AskMyWebsite AI reads the page's visible text only. Values typed into form fields are never captured, on any page, at any point in the conversation.

How it works: scan, ground, highlight

When a site is set up, the assistant scans it and builds its knowledge from what it finds. The owner can add notes for things the pages do not say out loud: delivery times, the answer to the question every third customer emails, the caveat that lives in someone's head.

From then on, every answer is grounded in that material. The assistant answers from the site's content plus the owner's notes, and nothing else. It does not consult the open internet, which means it cannot cheerfully invent a return policy, quote a competitor, or answer a question about a product line the business does not have. When the content does not contain the answer, saying so is the correct behaviour.

Installation is one script tag placed before </body>. There is no plugin to maintain and no change to the site's own code. It works on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer and hand-written HTML, and it detects client-side route changes, so single-page applications keep working as the visitor navigates.

The assistant replies in the language the visitor writes in, regardless of the site's language. A Spanish-language shop can answer a question typed in German without publishing a German version of anything.

What it deliberately does not do

An AI concierge that could operate the site for the visitor would be a more impressive demo and a worse product. AskMyWebsite AI never clicks, never fills a field, never submits a form. Three reasons, in order of importance:

The privacy posture around that is deliberate too: the operator is based in Spain, hosting is in Barcelona, a GDPR Article 28 data processing agreement is available at [/dpa], the widget sets no cookies (it uses sessionStorage only after the visitor opens it, and that dies with the tab), conversations are deleted automatically after 90 days, payments happen only on Stripe's hosted pages, and content is not used to train AI models.

Where an AI concierge fits

What it costs: pay for answers, not tokens

AskMyWebsite AI is priced on answers, not tokens. One answer means one visitor question answered; the guidance continuations that follow an answer are free. That matters because token pricing charges you for the assistant's verbosity, which you do not control, while answer pricing charges you for the thing you actually wanted. At the cap the behaviour is quiet rather than broken: visitors already mid-conversation finish their thread, and for new visitors the widget simply does not appear. Never an error message on your site.

Common questions

Is an AI concierge the same thing as a chatbot?

No. A chatbot answers inside a chat bubble. An AI concierge also reads the visible text of the page the visitor is on and points at the element they need to use next, so the conversation ends in an action on the site rather than in a description of one.

Does an AI concierge click buttons for the visitor?

No. AskMyWebsite AI never clicks, fills or submits anything. It highlights the element and the visitor decides whether to use it. That is a deliberate security and consent property, not a missing feature.

Where does an AI concierge get its answers from?

From the pages of the website it was installed on, scanned at sign-up, plus any notes the owner adds. It does not answer from the open internet, so it cannot volunteer information about a product the site does not sell.

Try it on your own site

Put it on a page you know well and ask something you already know the answer to.
